Tim French, Senior Design Engineer
Tim has designed hardware for video, microprocessor and PC interfaces. He has extensive experience of firmware implementation using VHDL and hardware design. His expertise includes video keyers, fibre optic interfaces, 1GHz Power PC, Gigabit Ethernet and dual SCSI controllers. He enjoys being involved with the whole product lifecycle from conception through to production. Tim previously worked at Aston Broadcast and Snell & Wilcox. He graduated with a 2:1 MENG in Electrical and electronic engineering from the University of Sheffield in 1998.
Charlotte Swanton, Operations Manager
Charlotte joined InSync Technology in May 2005, as operations assistant. Now managing operations she is involved in all aspects of InSync's activities including product forecasting, purchasing, sales, monitoring stock and overseeing production. Charlotte enjoys the challenges of working in an evolving technology company and being part of the team. Charlotte previously worked at Aker Kvaerner within the project control department. It was here she gained an HNC in Mechanical Engineering and an HND in Business Studies.
Daphne Civelli, Accounts
Daphne has had a variety of roles, covering many of the aspects of accounts and payroll, which her present position encompasses. She joined InSync in 2003 having previously worked for Snell & Wilcox Ltd for 16 years. While working at Snell & Wilcox she gained an HNC in Business and Finance and an HND in Business from Portsmouth University.
Dan Burgess, Senior Design Engineer
Dan is skilled and experienced design engineer who has been working in the broadcast field since the beginning of his career. He has been involved in all aspects of product design, from initial specification and algorithm research, to hardware design, through FPGA and embedded software implementation and finishing with successful production release. Dan has previously worked for Harmonic Inc / Broadcast Technology Ltd, where he was responsible for the design of the range of MPEG video and audio decoder modules, and Snell and Wilcox where primarily he designed Products for the modular range.
David Banks CEng. MIET, Director, Hardware Solutions
David's passion is the implementation
of complex algorithms and he has recently completed an advanced vertical-
Denise Hardy, Manufacturing
Denise joined InSync Technology to assist with manufacturing operations. She is responsible for testing the finished products as well as some assembly and prototype work. Denise has previously worked as a production supervisor for Snell & Wilcox and is now actively involved in InSync's quality management program.
Divya Kumar, Design Engineer
Divya joined InSync Technology in February 2008 as a
design engineer. She has recently graduated from the University of Southampton with
a Masters degree in Microelectronics System Design specializing in System on Chip.
She has worked on various academic projects which include the design of a navigation
system for unmanned airborne vehicles which was a prototype designed and tested on
an FPGA. Divya has worked previously in the Aerospace domain, where she was involved
in integration, requirement based and unit level testing of software programs written
in C.
Lee Hunt, Principal Design Engineer
Lee's design experience spans audio and video
disciplines and he has implemented a range of hardware, high speed digital video
and audio FPGA designs including the writing of their embedded software. His broad
design implementation skills add significant value to InSync's complete approach
to product creation. His particular expertise is the processing and manipulation
of broadcast audio in analogue, AES, Dolby E, Dolby Digital forms and when embedded
in digital video streams. Lee previously worked at Snell & Wilcox as a Senior Engineer
and at De La Rue where he was a test and commissioning engineer for cash sorting
machines.
Dr Richard Porges, Senior Software Engineer
Richard has worked in a variety of roles
covering many aspects of the design process from inception to completion. After graduation,
he undertook six years of “blue skies” research in an academic environment investigating
high resolution techniques applied to passive sonar. He has extensive experience
of detailed mathematical modelling, including digital filter design and analysis,
both in general signal processing terms and also specifically tailored to video applications.
On a practical level he is a competent FPGA designer, having been responsible for
state of the art aspect ratio converters and composite decoders. He is currently
working with the InSync team as an embedded software designer.
