Changing the Game for Flexible Frame Rate Conversion
This year’s IBC 2025 sees the launch of the latest iteration of InSync’s premier UHD converter, the MCC-UHD, which for the first time features a dual channel HD option, delivering a 50% reduction in rack space from the previous InSync UHD converter with a further improved gold standard in video conversion quality.
The new MCC-UHD provides the flexibility the industry demands, with selectable single channel UHD or dual channel HD options, SDI and optional ST 2110 interface, while maintaining the highest quality video outputs that Tier 1 premium sports events require.
The MCC-UHD is designed to deliver the best possible results converting from a wide range of frame rates, incorporating InSync’s new, improved deinterlacer algorithm for even cleaner and sharper images, and a full HDR-SDR conversion and colour management suite. All this with a power consumption that is only ~100W, a fraction of legacy competitor devices, which are several hundred Watts when operational and around 200W when idling.
Key benefits:
Highest conversion quality for premium Tier 1 sports & news content
More channels per RU = less rack space requirement
Covers all major conversion requirements from up/down/cross, interlacing, HDR-SDR
Up to 80% lower operating costs and CO2 emissions compared to competitor solutions
Low latency ~ 100ms vs. server-based solutions at well over 1 second to several seconds
Key features:
Motion compensated frame rate conversion to / from 23fps – 60fps
Single channel UHD or dual channel HD conversion
Dual 25GbE ST 2110 interfaces
5 x HD/3G/12G-SDI inputs or a single Quad-link 3G-SDI input, with input status reporting
4 x HD/3G/12G-SDI outputs for multi-feed distribution
HDR ↔ SDR conversion with custom LUT and BT 709/2020 colour space conversion
Enhanced Deinterlacer / interlacer 720p/1080p/2160p to / from 1080i
RESTful API, Front panel, web UI & SNMP control
MADI, AES and 32 channel embedded audio processing with gain, delay and shuffling capabilities
Our HD and UHD converters are trusted by the world’s leading broadcasters for the world’s biggest sports events. When tested by a global Tier 1 sports broadcaster alongside all other converters available in the market, they rated InSync as the best for conversion quality at HD and UHD, low latency, power consumption and ease of use.
Also, 40 out of 40 of IMG production and engineering staff chose InSync as the best quality in a double blind test versus competitors.
IBC 2025 marks the dawn of a new era in flexible, cost-efficient and high-quality frame rate conversion.
